Merry Christmas!

Well, I was going to post a picture of Kahli and I from Christmas Eve, but my computer is thinking otherwise right now. Hang on, I will try again.....

Okay.....finally it worked....I do not even know if this picture was worth the wait but oh well!

Our Christmas was very quiet and laid back this year. We stayed home and watched movies, read books, looked at magazines and took a lot of naps. I was a little under the weather and was not feeling so well so sleep was GREAT! Kahli and I definitely missed our west coast family on this Christmas because last year we were there in San Diego with the and it was GREAT.

I thoroughly enjoyed the time together with Kahli, with no where to go and nothing to do. It was a great way to celebrate our Savior's Birthday!

The week before we worked at church a lot for the extra Christmas services and we had a lot of parties to go to and Kahli had exams.

We loved this time of being together, reflecting over the past year and realizing that JESUS has made our lives so unbelievably AWESOME and not only on HIS birthday but each and every day we are thankful for OUR SAVIOR!!! Kahli and I spent time making plans for the year to come. Kahli is already planning New Year's Eve for 2010.

We hope that you and your family had an incredible time together this holiday and that you also had time to reflect on the past year and relax with the ones closet to you!

YEAH for SUNDAY!!!!

Tomorrow is Sunday....a day of worship! That excites me because all throughout the week I read my Bible and sing praise and worship songs but....ALL BY MYSELF! Tomorrow is the day where I can come together with other believers and sing, praise and worship. I am excited for church in the morning and I am also excited to be able to spend the whole entire day with Kahli.

To everyone....I hope that you enjoy your day of worship tomorrow as much as I do!

Happy Birthday JESUS!

Thank you for your life.

My west coast family.....

Jim, Michelle, Faith and Isaac came into town on the Friday after Thanksgiving, just in time for Michelle's birthday. I am so thankful that I was able to spend her birthday with her. The kids made her lots of presents that she will remember forever. Jimmy sang her song on the karaoke machine that made us all laugh so hard.

I have thoroughly enjoyed having my family here for the holidays but tonight is Sunday evening and I am sad that they will be leaving tomorrow to go back to San Diego. The weather while they were here was horrible and they can not wait to get back into the sunshine and wonderfully warm weather of San Diego.

I know that the congregation of Harbor OB has missed the Husters horribly and I can not blame them. My west coast family (Jimmy, Michelle, Faith and Isaac) are incredible and I enjoy our time we share together. I will miss them tremendously and can not wait until we are together again.

I am honored to have been their hostess for the end of their EAST COAST Thanksgiving tour!

Look who came to visit......

You guessed it....Uncle Greg. He flew in from San Diego on October 15 and Yaya and I went to pick him up at the airport and then off to dinner. It was soo good to see him and I know that Yaya was excited too.

On Friday evening we went and picked up Yaya and off to the high school football we went. Kahli twirled her fire baton and entertained us all. We ate lots of boiled peanuts and Uncle Greg, Yaya and Kahli were even on TV that evening.

On Saturday I drove Uncle Greg to Columbia to meet his parents so he could spend the week with them.

The following Friday I picked up Yaya and her and I drove to Columbia to pick up Uncle Greg. This was a nice wet and rainy October day. We still had lots of laughs and a good ride. We took Yaya home and Greg, Kahli and I went to Pancho's for dinner and wrapped up the evening at the local Dollar Store trying on silly hats.

We truly enjoyed our visit with Uncle Greg from our west coast family. In November the other part of the family are coming for a couple of days.....The Husters....It will be so awesome to be able to spend Michelle's birthday with her this year.

GOLF TOURNAMENT for MR.T.

Well the golf tournament for Mr. T. was quite a success. All in all we raised $20649.98 for the PanCan Action Network for Pancreatic Cancer Research. The PanCan Network stated that this was the biggest single check that they had ever received. They might even send a representative to pick up the check from Blue Ridge!!!(How awesome would that be?) So, who said that 7 women who know nothing about golf could not plan a successful golf tournament?

Everyone had a great day, including Mike. The weather was awesome. The turn-out was great and the golfers had an BIG time. Everything went incredibly smooth. When we presented the check to Mr. T. he was absolutely speechless (something I never have seen). It was just

On Monday morning the committee starting getting emails about when our next tournament would be.

I want to post pictures but I am having trouble with this so they will follow.

Thank you to all to participated in this event.

YEAH JIMMY!!!!!!!

Congratulations to James Richard Huster for passing hisoral ordination test. What a huge accomplishment and we thank the sweet LORD JESUS for being with him and his family each step of the way! On Saturday he will go before the Presbytery and preach a sermon and then an open floor of questions for 10 minutes.

The family will be celebrating his official ordination service in San Diego on Sunday October 12,2008 I know that personally Kahli and I would love to be there to support him in this joyous time of his life.

We love you JIMMY and are very proud of all of your hard work and the way that you are working each and every day to further GOD'S kingdom.

It's been a long time.....

So much has happened since I last blogged and to be truthful with you, I do not know where to start.

Okay so I am older, I did have a birthday. I had a wonderful birthday party in California.

I went to California over Labor weekend and the following week becasue Michelle, my sister and bestest friend, has been very ill.

Had a GREAT service at church this evening about the LORD setting us FREE! We had communion and to honest with you, it was one of the most touching communions I have ever taken. The true meaning of "AMAZING GRACE" is resounding in my heart as I type.

So much more to tell and I will but right now I am still suffering from a cold that I brought home from California and I need to rest.

Just in case you forgot.....

GOD IS IN CONTROL!!!!

Yesterday was Sunday and I had my day planned out to go to early church with Kahli and then do some work in my guest room. (I am trying to fix it up prior to having West Coast family visiting this fall) Anyway, we left the house around 8:00 because we needed to be early and then we met my friends Jessica and her husband there and sat with them.

The service started and the music was good. Then Perry (the preacher) said that he was not going to speak this morning, we were going to watch a video of another man giving the message, I have to admit I was a little disappointed. I really enjoy Perry's messages. Well after the video there was not a dry eye in the congregation and then people, broken people, starting getting up and giving their hearts to the LORD one right after another. It was AMAZING to see this happening after such a powerful message. ( Just to think that I was disappointed)

Well after that I leaned over the Kahli and said WE are coming to the 6:00 service and we are not coming alone. She said who are we going to bring? My response.....as many people as we can.

We came back to the 6:00 service with others in tow and wow another incredible service and more broken people coming to CHRIST!!!!!

So you see, when we have plans God just laughs at us, because whatever HE has planned for us is always more important! If my guest room does not get finished before family comes they will understand and be happy to sleep on the couch if necessary if it means that people are coming to CHRIST!!!

What an incredible Sunday and after all the emotion I went through during the day I slept really well last night.

Thank you LORD for the CROSS and thank you for loving us through our storms!

YOU are amazing!!!!!

Eternity...Forever...

The end of July I went to San Diego to see Michelle, my sister and her wonderful family. I really miss them so much that words can not even begin to express. This picture is one of the pictures that my sister and I took while I was in San Diego last month. We both had sad faces on because we knew that our wonderful time together was coming to an end.

This morning at church we talked about "The End of Times" and that there will be no more death, no more tears, no more sorrow and no more pain. We do not know when that time will come. Jesus will come like a thief in the night and we need to be prepared when HE arrives.

We talked about being prepared for HIS 2nd coming and NOT to predict when that will be. We talked about witnessing for the LORD each and every day and NOT to worry about HIS return. This is something I personally struggle with is witnessing to others. I do not know why because without my heavenly FATHER I would be down and out. I am so thankful for HIS unending GRACE for me.I do not know why I feel it is so difficult to share this. We also talked about repenting and not regreting.

With all of this being said I am rejoicing in knowing that the day of JESUS' return I will be ready and I am also rejoicing in knowing that I will spend eternity with my sister, Michelle, and all of my other fellow christians. What an incredible promise from the LORD. How awesome is that? It is totally amazing!

During the writing of this blog my sister called from San Diego and that made me really smile and warm my heart to hear her voice. Then she told me the GREAT news that Courtney was home!!!!!GO GOD!!!! GO GOD!!!

V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N is over :( :( :(

I went back to work today and everyone told me how much that they missed me and they were glad I was back at work. All of those things are really nice to hear but I wish that I were still in San Diego. The weather is absolutely incredible EVERY DAY!!!!! The people are very nice and friendly. Everything is really close to your house i.e. grocery store, drug store, hair stylists, the train store, the pet shop, doughnuts shops and oh yeah the most important 7-11!!!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my 16 days in San Diego, I kept thinking that I was going to be there such a long time but the days flew by really fast. When I left there were things I had not accomplished. (...like help Michelle hang curtains...spend a whole special day with Faith...spend a whole special day with Isaac... ministry work with Jimmy...see Lois....meet Courtney...meet Annie ...meet Bradford...go to other Harbor sites worship services...and much, much more!)

The days that were spent at the Husters were very enjoyable and extremely memorable. I enjoyed a praise and worship session with my sister late one evening and then we had an incredible prayer time out on the cliffs at sunset which was awesome. I enjoyed spending time in their house just "being there" and being a part of their lives. Michelle and I drove up the coast to Santa Barbara which was awesome and being with the kids was GREAT. Faith and Isaac have grown up so much and the good thing is they still remember their Nana (which makes me smile!)

One Saturday after church service Greg and I went out and had sushi!!!!! That was awesome. We got to sit at the sushi bar where they kept preparing more and more rolls and sushi for us and Greg kept ordering until finally we both about BUSTED!!! We had good conversation and it was nice to have dinner with Uncle Greg. I miss him!

I am amazed at how the LORD is working through Jimmy in HIS ministry in OB. I had the pleasure of going to three (3) services at the school and a bible study.

The last night I was there Jimmy asked me to give my testimony at the service. I was scared, nervous and had an upset stomach. I had no idea what I was going to say...enter "The Holy Spirit" who filled me with the words. After the service I had a couple of people come up to me and tell me that my story had touched them in one way or another. I really wish I was able to be there this coming Saturday too! What an incredible group of people who have a huge heart for the LORD and love serving others and sharing their faith. This is what it is all about!!! GO GOD!!!!

I feel warm and fuzzy and very loved after spending these days in San Diego with my west coast family. I miss them horribly and I am counting down the days until they come to South Carolina for Thanksgiving.

Thank you Jimmy, Michelle, Faith, Isaac, Uncle Greg and all of the members of Jimmy's launch team in OB for a wonderful time of renewal and awakening in Cali!

a day at the beach

Today we spent the day at the beach., well actually the afternoon....We were all there except for my sister, who was at home in bed...She caught a "bug" and was not feeling well. We had a great time at the beach but it was very crowded with a lot of tourists.

Last night we had church and it was awesome. Jim did an incredible job preaching the WORD. There was praise and worship and a meal . I met new people and got to hear their story. It was an eye-opening experience. After we finished church Greg and I went out for sushi and then we came home and we all watched a movie.

I am having the time of my life and I am making lots of memories with my west coast family. I am certainly going to miss them when I return to South Carolina.

"Riding up the coast"

Saturday, my first day here was filled full of things to do. We went to the school where Jimmy and his launch team were painting and we took them lunch. After that, we came home to prepare dinner for the Saturday evening meal and worship. We listened to Jimmy preach and had a worship service which was awesome.

Sunday, we slept in a little and we went swimming in the morning. After that we headed downtown San Diego, where a friend of Jim and Michelle's, Andy. is the captain of the Coast Guard and we got to tour his ship. That was pretty amazing. We then went to church at the "uptown" location and after that we headed out to dinner with lots of people.

On Monday, we took Kahli to a pediatric endocrinologist who shed a whole new light on Kahli's diabetes. We are going to meet with a Mini Med representative that is going to help us with her pump and also a dietitian who will help with her celiac and diabetes.

On Tuesday, Michelle and I headed up the coast to Santa Barbara in a convertible. WOW...We had a great time and it is amazing of how awesome our GOD is and just seeing the beauty of all that HE has created continues to blow me away.

On Wednesday, Michelle and I headed home and them we took some different roads in which we saw totally new sites. Just to see the mountains up against the ocean is incredible.

Today is Thursday and Isaac has not been feeling well so I am thinking about going to Blockbusters and getting some movies to entertain him while I help Michelle with some things around the house.

"I have arrived"

After a long day of traveling yesterday, last night I arrived in California to see my west coast family. It was so good to see the smiles on the kids faces as I came down the escalator at the airport.

It seems like I never left. Things are still the same except the kids have grown up and are really tan. Today was a very busy day but it was awesome. This evening we went to OB Elementary where church is held on Saturdays and listened to Jim preach and had a good meal, which is a ministry that the church does to reach the homeless. It is incredible the way that the LORD is working here.

Tomorrow is Sunday and the kids and I will go out in the morning and walk on the beach and then tomorrow afternoon we are going on some kind of boat /ship and then worship at the uptown church at 6:00.

I am happy to be here and I am excited that I will be here for two more of Jim's services.

Going to bed I am still suffering a little "jet lag".

"Brother Bill"

Today, I got the pleasure of hearing Bill Laxton preach. It feels like so long ago that I took his preaching for granted. I enjoyed going to church every Sunday hearing HIS precious words echo through Bill in such a calm and gentle spirit.

Well, it has been over a year since I have heard Bill preach and today was like welcoming back a dear friend and precious follower of CHRIST.

Bill brings the word sweet and to the point without a lot of "fluff" but instead he tells it like it is and that is so refreshing. Bill is such an incredibly transparent , understanding , kind human being. I am honored to say that, Bill Laxton, is not only an awesome preacher/teacher but he is an even better friend.

As some of you know he suffers with Parkinson's Disease. He does his best not allowing this to stop him but some days it is very difficult especially the shaking in his left hand. On July 29, 2008, Bill will be undergoing brain surgery in Columbia to hopefully help some of the symptoms of Parkinson's.

I ask you to pray for Bill , Dianne and their family as they lead up to these days and afterwards I ask that you pray for healing and complete recovery.

Thank you Bill for allowing me to worship with you this morning.

STILL COUNTING!!!!!

That's right Isaac....F-I-V-E more days.....Your Nana will be there on Friday!!!! I can not wait to get to California!!!

HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!!!!

Exactly one week from today I will be flying to California. I am so excited. I have so many things to accomplish prior to leaving. I can not wait to see my Kahli, it seems like forever since I have hugged her.

Seeing the Husters is going to be absolutely amazing. It has been 6 months since we have seen each other and I can not wait to see my sister, I have missed her sooooo much. Faith and Isaac had better have some BIG hugs and kisses ready for their Nana. I too, have missed Jimmy and I am anxious to hear and see what is going on with the ministry in OB. Uncle Greg will be there too and it will be awesome to see him. I know that I am going to have a fun-packed adventure starting July 11 that will go down in my memory book.

This week in South Carolina has been extremely busy trying to get all of my loose ends tied up prior to going to the west coast. My grandma has spent the week with us and that has been fun. Yesterday, we took her to work to have lunch with the Blue Ridge bunch and she said that she wants to come back there next time she is in town. I think she had fun meeting everyone and talking to everyone and meeting the doctors at Blue Ridge. My mom made quiche and cake (made by my dad) for all to enjoy and it was unbelievably good. It is amazing how food draws people into the kitchen and conversation.

Jane's daughter, Melissa, also came by the Blue Ridge kitchen and shared some stories of what she has been doing in New Orleans this summer. She is an incredible young woman with a huge heart and an wonderful love for the LORD. HE is doing great things through this sweet spirited young lady. GO GOD!

Even though this week has been busy, it has also been very good.

Tomorrow, I am going to drive grandma home to North Carolina. Please pray for "our journey".

SEVEN days and counting!!!!!!!!!!! California here I come.....

"LORD, what have YOU created me for?"

What is YOUR purpose for my life? I have been pondering these questions and praying this prayer since church on Sunday night...

Am I ready for HIS answer, am I ready to do HIS will?

Well, I know that I am ready to do HIS will...

If you were have asked me 30 years ago if I would be single when I was 45 years old my answer would have been "NO"!!! I always dreamed of being married with two or three children and being the perfect mother and wife but this was not HIS plan...

So now I am 45 years old and never been married and again I ask...LORD what is your purpose for my life? What have you created me for?

I am so blessed to have received the most incredible gift ever from HIM , HIS one and only son JESUS and if that was not enough I was blessed with Kahli Elizabeth Hubbard...and yes, LORD I am raising her to the best of my ability and yet I feel as though I am falling short of your glory and again I ask...What is YOUR purpose for my life?

LORD, I love you with all of my heart and soul and I want to do YOUR will and glorify YOU in all that I do but again I ask What have YOU crated me for?

These two questions have put me in a tailspin and I will continue to pray these until I hear from HIM...If it is HIS will for me to be single all of my life, then I will do it happily....If it is HIS will for me to find the man of my dreams, then I will be even happier. Until then , I will GLORIFY HIM each and every day and continue to be blessed as HE wakes me up each and every morning.

LORD, thank you for your love, your friendship, your honestly and your SON!

Saturday...Saturday

Today I spent the entire day cleaning my house. As some of you know I have been cleaning others people's houses and since I started doing that my house has been left out of the loop. Anyway, it feels good to be sitting in a clean house.

I am missing Kahli tonight. We usually spend Saturday nights together and it is very quiet with her gone. I know that she is doing great things in San Diego.

My Grandma is here for the week staying with my mom and dad so I have been visiting over there in between cleaning today. It is nice to have her here and tomorrow just the girls...me, Grandma and Mom are going to church then out to lunch. My dad had some oral surgery on Thursday and he still is not feeling up to going to church.

Tomorrow night, I am going to "New Spring" with my friend Jessica. Kahli and I usually go there on Sunday nights and I did not want to go alone so Jessica is going with me. I am excited for our time together worshipping our heavenly FATHER.

Well I must get in the shower and do a quick pedicure so that my toes are beautiful for Sunday.

May all who are reading this enjoy your day of worship tomorrow with your family.

in HIS grace...

building sandcastles

Kahli sent me this picture today of Faith and Isaac building a sandcastle. They are so happy that she is there with them and I know how happy she is also.
I talked with Michelle tonight and told me that she has missed Kahli so much that she might not send her back to South Carolina. She might keep her on the west coast.
Two weeks from tomorrow I will be leaving to go to California. I am so excited to go and see my "west coast family" that I have missed horribly.
Oh yeah and by the way, I will be bringing Kahli home with me.

LONELY ALREADY!

Kahli has not even left yet and I am getting lonely already. It is hard to believe that in all of her years we have never been apart for more than a few days at a time.

You see when Kahli was growing up she never went to camp for the summer or to grandma's house for the summer (well she did but i picked her up every night). We have always spent our summers/vacations together.

I am excited for her to have this opportunity to go to San Diego with out me for a while. There are so many things that she can do. I am hoping that Jimmy will let her some "mission work" while she is there. I know that Michelle will be happy to have her help with the laundry and watching the kids. I also know that Kahli will be happy to help everyone as long as she gets to dance a couple of time a week.

During these next couple of weeks I am going to keep myself busy with extra "side jobs" and helping my mom with my dad (who is having oral surgery 6-26) and with my 90 year old grandma who is coming for the week.

I am going to get a small taste of what it will be like when Kahli goes off to college.

These next couple of weeks will be "bittersweet" for Mom.

Kahli is going to CALI

In exactly one week Kahli will be going out to California to visit "The Husters". She is so very excited. Faith and Isaac are the little brother and sister she never had. They spent so much time together while growing up and they miss each other horribly.

This will be the longest time that Kahli and I have ever been away from each other but I am confident that she will be well taken care of. She is going to be with my sister, my best friend and the person I miss the most in life, Michelle.

Michelle and Jimmy have adopted Kahli as their third child. They are also excited for Kahli to come and spend some time with them this summer. I know that this family will love and nurture Kahli and teach her more about the gospel because they live the gospel each and every day.

If you would like to follow Kahli's adventure to California, she has started a blog to document everything she is doing. Kahliscaliblog.blogspot.com

"Missing the Husters"

It has been almost a year since the Huster's moved to the west coast...I am thankful and I have been blessed to visit numerous times and to have them come here also....However, it has been since Christmas since I have laid eyes on all of their faces...

I can not tell you how much I miss Faith and Isaac's hugs and kisses and how much I miss their excitement to see their Nana and to spend time with me....I miss all of our car rides together and all of our trips to and from church and all of the times we got lost and went in circles but we always had fun.....The green tape that we listened to endlessly....I miss the things so very much....
I miss Michelle's beaming face and incredible smile...I miss her beautiful singing voice and her wonderful words of wisdom....We are truly sisters of the heart and still we she is so far away I can feel her pain.....I can not wait until July 11 when I can be there in San Diego with my other family.....
I miss Jimmy so very much....I miss watching football and basketball games with him on TV....I miss our Sunday afternoon dinners....I miss our long talks and wonderful prayer time we had together....I miss his smile and I miss his energy and his joyful nature always being around....

I miss my Sunday afternoon naps with Isaac and us snuggling together and I miss her cheerful smile and I miss hearing him talk and I miss picking him up from school and I miss so many things.....I REALLY MISS "THE HUSTERS"...
