DANCE RECITAL #13

I do think that some aspects of the day/weekend are getting easier. No longer do I have to get everything together, make sure the costumes have all of their pieces, do make-up and make the schedule to follow. Kahli has taken over all of these details.

She now gives me instructions on how I can help her through the recitals. She has everything so organized that it scares me. She makes lists after lists and checks them twice and co-ordinates the proper tights and shoes. She has even added a sewing kit to her dance bag along with anything else you could possibly need.

I think the thing that IS getting harder for me, is ME. I am getting older and with Kahli doing two shows in one day....eight numbers in each show...eighteen costume changes including the finale....my age is beginning to get the best of me.

Not only do I have to be concerned with Kahli (she has others helping her)..I have to help coordinate all of the others girls get on stage and in their proper costumes, on time.....This entails running up and down the stairs ALOT and around the Brooks Center numerous times in one day. I have learned through the years that sneakers and jeans are the best outfit for the day. However, the day after I am exhausted and really glad it is over.

I love to see Kahli's face light up when she is on stage and entertaining the audience, it makes my heart smile to know that my little girl delights in dancing for others.

Thank you LORD for Kahli's ability to dance and entertain. Thank you!

"Mom I need my eyes checked"

Kahli has been telling me for weeks that her eyes have gotten really bad and she can not see well. My response has been the same..... "Honey, when we get the check from the IRS in May, we will go to the eye doctor and get you new glasses."

So last Wednesday I took Kahli down to the DMV to get her driver's liscense. Well after trying two different machines...reading with the left eye...reading with the right eye...still she can not see the line she was supposed to read. WE LEFT!!! No liscense today.

Yes, I called the eye doctor and made her an appointment for Saturday.

Upon arriving at the eye doctor, he asked her some questions about school and how she was seeing the board and if she sat in front of the room and if her current glasses were helping her at all...
He then proceeded to tell us that her vision in both eyes were 20/200.....WOW...Kahli could not see anything.....

Okay on Friday I won the "mother of the day" awarded by Kahli and her friends for me picking up lunch at Wendy's and delivering it to them after taking a test.....Today, Saturday I have won the "worst mother of the year" award presented to me by me.

I feel absolutely horrible that she has not been able to see and today we got her contacts AND glasses....

Bottom line, just listen to your children when they talk!!!!

"YELLOW BUG"

Let the "SON" shine it. This is the way I feel while driving my new yellow bug. The car is so very bright and it makes we want to let JESUS shine through me more and more every day.

So the next time you are out on the road and see a "bright yellow bug" , think about how JESUS shines through you. Let others see how spectacular HE is through your words and actions.

Spread the "SONshine'!
