DANCE RECITAL #13

I do think that some aspects of the day/weekend are getting easier. No longer do I have to get everything together, make sure the costumes have all of their pieces, do make-up and make the schedule to follow. Kahli has taken over all of these details.

She now gives me instructions on how I can help her through the recitals. She has everything so organized that it scares me. She makes lists after lists and checks them twice and co-ordinates the proper tights and shoes. She has even added a sewing kit to her dance bag along with anything else you could possibly need.

I think the thing that IS getting harder for me, is ME. I am getting older and with Kahli doing two shows in one day....eight numbers in each show...eighteen costume changes including the finale....my age is beginning to get the best of me.

Not only do I have to be concerned with Kahli (she has others helping her)..I have to help coordinate all of the others girls get on stage and in their proper costumes, on time.....This entails running up and down the stairs ALOT and around the Brooks Center numerous times in one day. I have learned through the years that sneakers and jeans are the best outfit for the day. However, the day after I am exhausted and really glad it is over.

I love to see Kahli's face light up when she is on stage and entertaining the audience, it makes my heart smile to know that my little girl delights in dancing for others.

Thank you LORD for Kahli's ability to dance and entertain. Thank you!

"Mom I need my eyes checked"

Kahli has been telling me for weeks that her eyes have gotten really bad and she can not see well. My response has been the same..... "Honey, when we get the check from the IRS in May, we will go to the eye doctor and get you new glasses."

So last Wednesday I took Kahli down to the DMV to get her driver's liscense. Well after trying two different machines...reading with the left eye...reading with the right eye...still she can not see the line she was supposed to read. WE LEFT!!! No liscense today.

Yes, I called the eye doctor and made her an appointment for Saturday.

Upon arriving at the eye doctor, he asked her some questions about school and how she was seeing the board and if she sat in front of the room and if her current glasses were helping her at all...
He then proceeded to tell us that her vision in both eyes were 20/200.....WOW...Kahli could not see anything.....

Okay on Friday I won the "mother of the day" awarded by Kahli and her friends for me picking up lunch at Wendy's and delivering it to them after taking a test.....Today, Saturday I have won the "worst mother of the year" award presented to me by me.

I feel absolutely horrible that she has not been able to see and today we got her contacts AND glasses....

Bottom line, just listen to your children when they talk!!!!

"YELLOW BUG"

Let the "SON" shine it. This is the way I feel while driving my new yellow bug. The car is so very bright and it makes we want to let JESUS shine through me more and more every day.

So the next time you are out on the road and see a "bright yellow bug" , think about how JESUS shines through you. Let others see how spectacular HE is through your words and actions.

Spread the "SONshine'!

"PRAISE GOD!!!! "

Well, after the 4th appeal with the insurance company, I got a call today at work from Stephanie. She stated that for some unknown reason the insurance company has decided to approve Kahli's new insulin pump and CGMS.

We are hopeful that at the beginning of next week we will be receiving the new pump and begin to get some classes on how to operate it!

I was so excited today that I was dancing around work. (Now I know why Kahli is the dancer in the family). Prayer and persistence were the two key steps in achieving the authorization.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for their prayers and to the my sweet heavenly FATHER for giving me the persistence to carry through with this endeavor to create a little easier life for Kahli and her diabetes.

So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your GOD. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

As I was reading through my bible this evening I found this verse written down in the back of my bible as one of my favorites.

On Saturday, March 15, 2008, our precious and heavenly FATHER healed my best friend, my sister in Christ, Michelle. Yes, HE healed her. I know that a lot of people do not believe that such a powerful event could take place. I am here to tell you that it did take place. Michelle has been doing things that she could only dream of doing and she has the energy of a teenager. Everyday, I will call Michelle to see if she is still "doing great" and her answer has always been YES.

I have prayed this bible verse many times with my sister in mind. For the past eight years she has struggled with her health. There are many days that she never was able to get up out of the bed. I remember kneeling beside her bed and praying LORD...please, please, please heal my sister. I never gave up hope and continued to pray. Many days I would grow weary and even wonder if GOD was hearing my prayers. Down deep I knew HE was, but why make Michelle and her family suffer so much?

In July 2007 Michelle and her family, only after being called by GOD, moved to San Diego and again I asked HIM.."What are you doing?" Michelle needs her support system here in South Carolina, it will be way too hard so far away. Jim and Michelle were obedient to our gracious GOD and followed HIM. The first six months have been extremely difficult with Michelle's health. She has been living in San Diego but not really living at all. She has been unable to participate in any events that were going on. She has not been able to go church. She even was unable to pick the kids up from school or go grocery shopping. Still during this time I am questioning GOD....Why?

Now, everything is beginning to make sense to me. This community they are in, is very oppressed and dark. The people there are warm and caring people but most of them do not who JESUS is or anything about HIM. See through all of Michelle's suffering, GOD was glorified and HE will continue to be glorified through their ministry that is all about HIM!!!! I think that the people in San Diego needed a miracle to let them know just how powerful our GOD is!!!!

Michelle is that miracle.....WOW what better way to share the gospel than through your own personal testimony of how awesome our GOD is!

The LORD is gracious!!!!

Mr. Timmerman leaves for Duke

Today around lunch time Mr. Timmerman and his wife Debbie came by the office as they were on their way to Duke. Mr "T" was very chipper and very positive. As they left in the car, they left behind many tears and many prayers. You see Mr. "T" has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and he is on his way to Duke for surgery. This will take place on Friday. They said the surgery will last about 8 hours and then he will be in the hospital for about 10 days followed by weeks of chemotherapy and radiation.

Mr. "T" is the the administrator of Blue Ridge Orthopaedics. He and I started to work there about the same time ten years ago. Since then we have gone through many difficult life situations, as well as many happy occasions. We have watched our children grow older (Kahli and Christy ..Mike's daughter)share the same birthday..different year.....

This past year Christy got married and Mr. "T" had a hard time letting go of his daughter, his baby girl to another man. Her beautiful wedding picture sits on his desk and when you ask about her there is always a tear in his eye.

With this being said Mr. "T" and I have a lot of history . He is a very wise man that has stood by me and beleived in me for many years. I look up to him and enjoy our conversations. He always has good advise and is honest, kind and caring.

These past couple of weeks, after him receiving his diagnosis, has been very difficult for me as well as many others too. Mr. "T" has an incredibly strong spirit and a great outlook on his daignosis and he feels that his glass is half full not empty.

I know that GOD can heal anyone and HE is the greatest physician of all. Please LORD if this is your will to completely heal Mr. "T" of his pancreatic cancer, letyour will be done. I ask that you watch over him and his family as they begin their extremely difficult journey. I also ask that you hold his hand all the way through and let him know how much you love him.

Please join with me in prayer for, Mr."T" a wonderful man who has been a great inspiration to me throughout the years. Mr. "T" I love you!!!

FINALLY....CLEMSON BEATS DUKE

Today Clemson (#3) beat Duke (#2) in the ACC play-off game. They will be in the ACC championship game tomorrow against UNC (#1). This is the first time since 1962 that Clemson has been in the championship game. Today was a well deserved win. These boys have played hard all season and have gone through a lot of injuries (I know 'cause I see them in the office).

This is an incredible group of very nice young men and Coach Purnell has been an awesome leader for them. Not to mention, that they have an unbelievable medical staff behind them.

GO TIGERS! Bring home the ACC championship!
